Marek Holuscha has been part of our innotec family as a sales representative since 2000. In this interview, he talks about his extensive range of responsibilities, his interpretation of our guiding principle "Pioneers of the future" and his personal strengths.

How did you come to innotec and what did you do before?

After training as a process mechanic, I worked in the steel industry for a few years. I then completed further training to become a state-certified technician specializing in waste technology and then started looking for a new job in the waste disposal industry, which is when I came across innotec.

What tasks are part of your daily work?

My daily tasks include presenting our company to the outside world and acquiring new customers at housing industry events. I present our entire range of services and listen carefully to our customers' needs in order to offer the right solutions.

I also take care of converting old contracts and reviewing current contracts as well as calculating prices on the basis of central calculations. The preparation and review of quotations is also part of my job, as is the mapping of all processes in our database.

Another part of my job is to support the branch managers, clarify outstanding invoicing issues and follow up on terminations. When ownership changes, I also negotiate with the new owners at an early stage in order to adapt existing contracts and continue them as far as possible.

What does a normal working day look like for you?

My working day usually starts with prioritizing the most important tasks and sorting through current requests. I take care of distributing incoming messages from existing customers to the relevant colleagues and enter relevant data into our systems.

I then process customer inquiries, create quotations and follow them up to keep an eye on the status. When contracts are concluded, I coordinate closely with the operational departments to ensure that takeovers run smoothly. During the course of the day, I continuously deal with issues that arise from regular meetings and ensure that all ongoing projects are well coordinated.

Life writes the best stories: What's the most unusual, beautiful or funny thing you've ever experienced at work?

I have fond memories of a shoot for the cult news program "RTL-Nachtjournal mit Heiner Bremer" in 2000. Back then, I acted as a "waste manager" in front of the camera and I can still see the terrible conditions of my sites today - for a 30-second report.

Why do you like working at innotec?

Because innotec works with "lifeblood" - and I love investing it in my work. We also implement win-win concepts every day that benefit many people.

Together, we innotecies are PIONEERS OF THE FUTURE. What does that mean for you and your work?

For me, it means that we stand out from our competitors through our creativity and innovative strength. A true pioneer has initiative and assertiveness - and that's what it takes to create something new and find customer-oriented solutions. We don't just want to react to changes in the market, we also want to be actively ahead of them - in other words, to do real pioneering work.

What are you particularly good at professionally?

I am a real team worker. I like working with others and I enjoy achieving goals together.

What are you particularly good at in your private life?

I like to help out wherever I can.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Team player, determined, self-questioning

What are your hobbies?

I like to broaden my views and love exploring the world of art and designing my camping plot.

What would you take with you to a desert island?

That depends: If I was stranded, definitely a working lighter. However, if I was exiled, I would take a survival guide for hermits, an axe, solar panels or a wind turbine, a gramophone with records, writing material for a diary and a book on navigation - in case island life wasn't for me after all.
